An invitation to a poetical journey
Pierre Bordenave who disappeared at an untimely age in 2002,
had created these “Written Paintings” or “Wordless Calligraphies” a new series of which are presented here.
Guo Xi, a XIth century Chinese painter said :
“ A poem is an invisible painting, a painting is a visible poem”.
Catherine Bordenave’s lonely walker invites you to follow his wandering steps from painting to painting,
into the world of clouds, gardens and birds’ songs.
The texts that go with the exhibition come from Francois Cheng’s book :
“Et le souffle devient signe” first published by L’iconoclaste in 2001.
